For each pain point, users were asked to detail the tools or data that would help them to effectively address the relevant business challenges. The user desired outcomes (i.e., user needs) represent geospatial products that ESA or others could offer to better support the industry, either through increased access or interpretability of geospatial data. For each user need (UN), users helped specify the geo-requirements (GR) such as the scale of interest, spatial resolution of objects of interest, update frequency, and timeliness (i.e., “data throughput”).
4.1 Solar power generation is comparably dispersed, requiring updates to the grid
4.2 Challenges to cross-national grid integration limits net production and reliability
4.3 Urban and residential opportunities can be limited by suitable roof space
4.4 Energy production varies based on environmental conditions
4.5 Ideal sites may have older PV technology, limiting total production potential
4.6 Similar system profiles (e.g., south-facing PVs) create energy peaks and valleys
